Rome and Regina have a big decision to make on A Million Little Things

The lead-up to A Million Little Things Season 3 premiering was all about one character. Would Eddie live or die?

Now we have that answer, we can safely look at the other characters. It’s time to concentrate on Rome and Regina, who have a big decision to make.

Right now, they both want the same thing but don’t necessarily want it right away. Regina is terrified of being hurt again, of grieving a loss again. Meanwhile, Rome wants to give a new baby a home, and it looks like he’s going to move things forward for now while Regina comes to terms with her decision.

Regina seems to have stopped blaming Rome

The end of A Million Little Things Season 2 saw Eve choose to keep her baby. A very hurt Regina turned that pain on the one person she could: Rome. She blamed him for even wanting a baby.

More from ABC

After all, they’d both agreed to no children. Then Rome changed his mind, and slowly Regina realized that she would like a baby but adopt one. It was always going to be a risk, but she was so close to having a baby of her own. This all started with Rome, so when she was angry and grieving the loss (and yes, it is grief), she turned on the person closest to her.

They seem to have passed this as a couple. Regina admitted that she wanted this baby. She still wants a baby, even though they agreed not to have one in the first place. But the pain is so raw and she doesn’t know if she can go through it again. At least, not yet.

So when Rome shared there’s another potential match, Regina isn’t sure on A Million Little Things. She doesn’t want to be left at the hospital with a car seat and no baby because the birth mom chose not to give up her baby for adoption after all.

Rome isn’t ready to give up

While Regina isn’t sure, Rome knows that he wants to take this next chance. He is ready to be a father, and he is ready to give a baby a home.

They don’t have much time to choose. And they’ll need to get the process started if they want this baby. Rome knows this, so it looks like he’s taking this step.

There’s always a chance for them to pull out if they realize it’s not a fit. And that’s not if they’re just not ready. Regina and Rome may decide that the birth mom isn’t 100% ready to put her baby up for adoption. They may sense that there’s something else that’s a problem. But they need to meet with the birth mom first.

Rome also knows Regina well. He’ll know that she can close down when hurt, that she can blame Rome when she’s angry at the situation or at herself. Regina just needs time, and Rome is allowing that while moving things forward.

It’s just hard to call which way they’ll go with this.
