Casey almost bouncing off the ladder

We watch Mouch lock the ladder in place on Chicago Fire Season 9, Episode 3, but something happens that causes it to bounce. Casey is thrown over the side, almost suffering a career-ending injury (if not losing his life). It’s a terrifying moment that leaves Mouch doubting his actions.

Nobody wants to see Mouch go. As Casey, Severide, and Herrmann all agree, they’d rather have Mouch than a green floater who would be worse. However, they need to get to the bottom of everything that happened.

Herrmann won’t let this go. He decides to do some digging, and it turns out Gorsch knew that the truck needed to go in for repairs. There were some mechanical problems that led to the bounce.

It wasn’t Mouch’s fault at all.

Brett struggling to hide her feelings

There is no way Brett can hide her feelings for Casey. In fact, Casey tries to have a conversation with her about their potential relationship, but she shoots him down. “There is no regardless of Gabby.”

Honestly, these two just need to get over themselves. We already know that if Gabby asked Casey to go with her, he’d say no. He’s already said no on various occasions.

But then I do get Brett’s concerns. Casey is her best friend’s ex-husband. And they’re colleagues. But if she’s going to shoot him down while in work, she’ll need to talk to someone about it.

It at least leads to Mackey taking down a drone and then getting Brett to fully destroy it.
