Well, we may be able to attribute ABC’s hesitation to announce anything to the fact that the fourth season of The Good Doctor is still airing on the television network. It’s likely that ABC is trying to get a feel for how the show is performing in terms of viewership this season, before determining what’s next.

Based on the numbers, it looks as though the fourth season of The Good Doctor is averaging about 4 million viewers per episode. This may sound like a pretty good number, but compared to its 10 million viewers in its pilot season, the number of watchers has been steadily dwindling, which may not be the best sign.

But don’t worry; decreasing viewership does not always indicate a potential cancellation.

Is The Good Doctor be canceled?
