Riverdale season 5 returns to tonight! We’re so happy to be done with this hiatus. Feels good to know we’ll have a new episode of this ridiculous show to obsess over. There is, after all, a reason we’re all still watching this show and it’s not because it’s prestige television.
No, this teen drama turned time-jumped dive into adulthood is as soapy and off-the-wall as it gets. The last time we were in the town with pep, former Mayor of Riverdale Hiram Lodge orchestrated a jail break for the prison he built, and he did it ACME style.
His actions led to Archie taking down inmates by way of machete in his alma mater’s hallways where he’s now an ROTC recruiter and the head football coach. And that’s one of the least bonkers plots that Riverdale season 5 left off on.

What is Riverdale season 5, episode 11 about?
Archie, a man who is way to fond of building a team for take downs, is once again launching a mission to save the town. This time it involves rounding up the escaped prisoners. Along for the ride are likely to be his firefighters, some South Side Serpents, and Veronica Lodge? Who’s ready to rumble?
Possibly Cheryl and her mother, Penelope, if she doesn’t disclose why she’s made her return. The two stopped their family’s maple trees from burning by praying at a dark altar but conjuring up some religion doesn’t change how they left things before. Cheryl doubts her mother is there to dramatically sashay in satin for her, so she wants some answers and fast.
Elsewhere, Betty’s mission to oust the Lonely Highway Killer is about to get interrupted by Tabitha. She was the last person to see Jughead before he went missing, and if there’s anyone who’ll be able to find everyone’s favorite misanthropic writer, it’s Betty Cooper.
It’s good to be back, Riverdale fans!
