Is Veep worth watching?

Veep is a wickedly vicious takedown of politics in Washington D.C. Selina Meyer is a woman who values vanity, power, and, above all, herself. However, Selina and her team don’t possess the savvy to make this a smooth ride.

Veep is Selina’s journey through the quagmire of politics as she negotiates, bullies, and flubs her way through a career in Washington. The cherry on this comedy sundae? The continued failures of Selina and her staff provide fodder for an encyclopedia of creatively cutting insults that would make Tony Soprano blush.

Is The Americans worth watching?

To call FX’s The Americans a spy series is to miss the point. What Joel Fields and Joe Weisberg have truthfully created is a compelling drama about a family and a marriage, where the two main characters just happen to be spies.

Like the best of series, The Americans aspires to something larger than itself. It’s using Cold War America to make comments on any number of issues in modern society. Add in career-redefining performances by Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys (who’d ever expect Felicity to be a spy?) and it’s great drama wrapped in espionage, relevant and gripping for any decade.

Is Smallville worth watching?

When it comes to superhero origin stories, Smallville is the crème de la crème of the now-crowded genre. During its 10 season run, the series managed to breathe new life into some of the most beloved characters from the DC Comics canon to show how one Kansas farm boy evolved into the famed hero known as Superman.

What made the series so great, was its ability to ground these larger-than-life characters in order to make them just as relatable as you and me by forcing them to take on the issues that we’ve all been plagued by at some point in our lives. Making it even greater was the show’s ability to deliver compelling superhero storylines without having to take the dark turns that so many superhero films and series rely on today.

Is WandaVision worth watching?

WandaVision is a love letter to the golden age of television, blazing new territory both for the television landscape and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This epic limited series further develops two of Marvel’s previously most underutilized characters in Wanda Maximoff and Vision, giving the characters a chance to shine like never before in what has become one of Marvel’s finest feats and a true master class in acting from Elizabeth Olsen.

Is Curb Your Enthusiasm worth watching?

If Seinfeld was about nothing, Curb Your Enthusiasm is about one single thing: the everyday encounters of the curmudgeonly yet hilarious Larry David. A co-creator of Seinfeld, David spent most of his time on that show behind the scenes, only doing a cameo appearance every now and then, usually in some sort of weird getup. But he got his day in the sun to play a version of himself on his own show back in 2000.

Audiences thought the show was prettaaaay prettaaay good, so the show ran for eight seasons on HBO. In 2011, David took a hiatus for a few years, making fans of the show nervous. Some doubted he would return, but in 2016 the seeds were planted for a ninth (and possibly tenth) season of the show.
