Dexter: New Blood on Showtime has been taking its time, but even though the story is moving along slowly, we’re glad Dexter Morgan is back on our screens! But since there is still so much that needs to happen, fans are wondering if New Blood is going to get another season. Is Dexter: New Blood season 2 happening? Here’s what we know!
Spoilers ahead if you have not watched all episodes of Dexter: New Blood.
New Blood finds Dexter Morgan in a new location going by the name of Jim Lindsay. He has a whole new life, a simple job, and a girlfriend who is a cop and resembles Debra (or is that just me?). Interrupting his usual routine is Harrison, who finds his dad and is desperate for answers. Dexter is happy to take Harrison in and tries to bond with him after so many years, but audiences don’t really trust Harrison. Not to mention, Harrison and Dexter don’t get a long well. At all.
A lot is happening, but will it wrap up in time or will the final episodes be rushed and messy…just like the final season of the original series? I said what I said!
Is Dexter: New Blood season 2 happening?
At the time of this writing, there are no plans to renew the series. In fact, as Polygon reminds fans, New Blood is a 10-episode miniseries and show creator Clyde Phillips even share with the source that the ending for New Blood will be, “stunning, shocking, surprising, unexpected.” Oh yes, Phillips is really hyping up this new series, even commenting that “the ending of this new season… will blow up the internet.” WHOA.
Never say never, though! I know of plenty “miniseries” that ended up getting one or two more seasons. It all depends on the story and whether or not fans want to see more. And we will never not want more Dexter Morgan.
New episodes of Dexter: New Blood stream on Showtime on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 12:01 a.m. ET. As soon as we learn more details, we’l update this post!
