Succession season 3 has come and gone, so that means fans of the HBO hit are looking ahead to what’s next. The good news is that another season has been confirmed, so you can rest easy knowing that all of your questions from the latest episode will be answered soon.

The season 3 finale aired in December 2021, and it certainly subverted viewers’ expectations in more ways than one.

In the first few minutes of the season 3 finale, we discovered that Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong) was very much still alive, despite fans being convinced he might’ve overdosed or drank himself to death in the penultimate episode. On top of that, his siblings, Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Roman Roy (Kieran Culkin) were blindsided by their dad Logan Roy’s (Brian Cox) big business decision.

Anyone else on the edge of their seats for Succession season 4? Let’s get into the basics of what we know about it so far. HBO just confirmed the release date and shared the first teaser!

Succession season 4 release date

Get ready, Succession fans, because season 4 is close! The new season of the HBO hit will premiere on Sunday, March 26, 2023. This will be two weeks after the finale of The Last of Us season 1.

As reported by CarterMatt, Brian Cox discussed season 4 while being interviewed by GQ Magazine in October 2021, revealing filming should begin filming in June 2022. At least, he noted that was “roughly the plan.” He also said he thinks the writers would begin working on it in January 2022.

Fans might remember that Succession season 3 was supposed to begin filming in April 2020, however, COVID-19 safety concerns shut that down. According to Showbiz Cheat Sheet, they eventually got started in November 2020. That means it took almost a year after filming began for the third season to premiere.
