The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, which we’ll simply be calling The Woman in the House moving forward, is now streaming on Netflix. The satirical murder-mystery is a hell of a good time with silly and shameless surprises at every corner. Need a reason or two to watch? Read on!

Avoiding spoilers? If you haven’t watched The Woman in the House on Netflix just yet, no worries! This is a spoiler-free zone!

Why you should watch The Woman in the House on Netflix

Kristen Bell, enough said

Kristen Bell is reason enough to watch The Woman in the House. In this dark comedy, Bell plays Anna, a woman who enjoys a bottle or two of wine to unwind at the end of each day. Okay, maybe three bottles. One night, after one too many drinks (and pills), Anna sees what she believes to be a murder. But was it all a hallucination or did it really happen?

Bell is a brilliant actress, she’s even good and playing roles that are intended to be bad! You can tell Bell is having fun with it and doesn’t take herself too seriously. I don’t see this working with anyone else.

The Woman in the House is an easy binge

Most murder-mysteries keep you on the edge of your seat trying to collect all the clues so you can guess who the killer is before it is revealed. And this is great! I love me a clever murder-mystery, but if you’re searching for something a little less serious, The Woman in the House fits the bill. You don’t have to think about anything too much, just watch and enjoy.

Be warned! This is a dark comedy, so the humor is often not light. Many of the “jokes” are heavy, and some of the deaths may be silly, but violent. If this is your thing, The Woman in the House will fit right in with you!

A shocking finale

You will probably see the killer reveal coming a mile away, or maybe you won’t, but what is shocking is how The Woman in the House completely breaks free from any sense it had. The final act decides to go rogue and not much makes sense, but I was actually here for it! All I was looking for was a good time and a quick binge. So, as long as you weren’t expecting everything to fall together nicely or a clever conclusion, you’ll be fine!

A fun, surprising cameo

Finally, the last scene features a surprising cameo! Who is it? We’re not spoiling it here, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!
