After a small hiatus, the Pearson family returns to NBC on tonight’s episode of This Is Us. The show did not air the past two weeks due to the Winter Olympics.

When we last saw the Big Three, they were all dealing with various relationships in their lives. Kate made the tough decision to inform Rebecca that she can no longer watch her grandchildren alone due to her mental decline. This storyline was intertwined with a previous argument that Rebecca had with Kate after a night of speed dating, where Rebecca regretfully slapped her daughter.

By the end of the episode, Kate and Rebecca forgave each other by the piano. More importantly, Kate asks Rebecca to teach her son, Jack, the piano to which she cheerfully accepts.

Meanwhile, Kevin met up with Cassidy and Nicky at the construction site. When Kevin tries to make a move on Cassidy, she declines and tells Kevin to stop being a “wrecking ball” in other women’s lives. For Randall, he may lose a daughter after Deja informs both he and Beth that she intends on graduating high school early and moving to Boston with Malik.

Tonight’s episode will involve Beth and her dance studio as she prepares for a big show. The episode’s title “Our Little Island Girl: Part Two,” is a reference to a Season 3 episode that highlighted Beth’s journey as a dancer and how she came to meet Randall at a college mixer.
