Moon Knight episode 3 is now streaming on Disney+ and it has amped up the action. There’s so much to unpack after watching, but in this post we are focusing on a new character introduced, Anton Mogart. Who is this character and who plays him? Who is Gaspard Ulliel? Let’s dive in!

Please note there are spoilers ahead if you have not watched Moon Knight episode 3.

In Moon Knight episode 3, Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy) and Marc Spector (Oscar Isaac) visit Layla’s “friend,” Anton Mogart, a collector who has Senfu’s sarcophagus that Layla and Marc need. Mogart isn’t alone, though, his property is heavily guarded. Unfortunately, Layla isn’t able to distract Mogart and his men, but they have even bigger issues when Arthur Harrow arrives (Ethan Hawke).

Who is Anton Mogart in Moon Knight?

You can’t help but be intrigued by the character of Anton Mogart. His appearance in the series was teased long before the release as one of Moon Knight’s villains. Now, we do see Marc shoot Mogart in episode 3, but I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him. So, who is Mogart? According to Newsweek, in the comics, Mogart is an art thief who collects jewels, artifacts, and other antiques. Mogart is also known as The Midnight Man, which is the time he usually strikes to steal his next piece of work. In Moon Knight, Mogart is played by Gaspard Ulliel.

Who is Gaspard Ulliel in Moon Knight?

Sadly, Gaspard Ulliel, the 37-year-old actor, unfortunately passed away on Jan. 19, 2022, in a skiing incident. This was before the release of Moon Knight. Portraying Anton Mogart is one of his final performances. The French actor also stars in Coma and More Than Ever.
