Many people are definitely into competition shows on television. Whether its American Idol, America’s Got Talent, or so many others. There’s so much talent to showcase, and it’s so exciting to watch! Of course dance is a fun skill to showcase, and NBC’s new show Dancing With Myself does just that.

The new series has celebrities Shakira, Nick Jonas, and Liza Koshy who serve as advisors of a sort. Along with the creators, host Camille Kostek designs and demonstrates a number of dance challenges for the contestants.

The premiere episode saw people of all ages and backgrounds – including a plus size model, a flight attendant, and professional swimmer–compete. Each episode starts off with 12 contestants in their bid to earn the title of “Best Dancer of the Night,” and take home the $25,000 prize.

So how do we get a winner? Is it the “judges,” the studio audience, or viewers at home who get to decide who moves forward?

Can the Dancing With Myself audience at home vote?

Many of the competition shows allow for the audience at home to vote for their favorites. But Dancing With Myself doesn’t work that way. The episodes are all already taped, so it’s up to the studio audience to make their votes.

Though the creators can save some contestants in certain rounds, it’s the studio audience who has all the control. And, in the premiere episode on May 31, the first Dancing With Myself winner was crowned! 16-year-old student Tyra danced her way through six rounds to reach the finish line, and took home the cash prize.

So if you think the show sounds interesting but were hoping to vote for your favorite dancers, then unfortunately you won’t have the chance to do that. But the new NBC show is certainly fun to watch and it’s worth it to add to your watch list!

Dancing with Myself airs weekly on Tuesdays on NBC. The hour-long episodes are also available to stream the next day on Peacock.
