These recent Disney+ releases are awesome for a summer movies watch

If you’re in the mood for something new, then these next two summer movies need to be next on your queue. First is Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers which is a “come-back” movie and not a reboot. The film follows the two stars of the original series, Chip and Dale as they team up to save some of their forgotten pals who have gone missing including Monterey Jack who was in the original series.

While a few 2022 releases could have made the cut, Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers was the perfect one as it’s a lot of fun, has major Who Framed Roger Rabbit vibes and has some of the best cameos in recent years from Disney. Frankly, the film is one of the best Disney+ originals and it introduces Chip and Dale to the younger generation who might not already be familiar with them.

The other recent release is the Disney+ original, Luca. This Pixar film follows Alberto and Luca who are sea monsters and it’s essentially the two of them trying to live on land while dealing with the struggles of being human and having some summer fun, unlike anything they’ve ever experienced before. This is another Disney film that’s essentially void of songs and is all about the characters and setting.

Released in 2021, Luca is the perfect summer watch if you’re either looking for a vacation watch or if you’re not able to go but still want to fall into a story. The setting is so lush and vivid which is why the movie is essential for your summer watchlist. This one also has a short on Disney+ if you’re looking for some extra content after finishing the film.
