To say Flowers in the Attic: The Origin premiere was rough would be an understatement. “Part 1: The Marriage” took us from a love affair into a nightmare as the wool was pulled from Olivia Winfield’s eyes once she married Malcolm and moved to Foxworth Hall.

Spoilers ahead of Flowers in the Attic: The Origin Part 1 and 2

The more Olivia settled into her new home, the weirder and more uncomfortable her situation got. It wasn’t just the lifelessness of the estate. Malcolm’s obsession with his mother Corrine was unsettling when it was first introduced into the plot and by the time he raped Olivia in his mother’s bedroom, the story took such a dive into the tragic and disturbing that you would think it couldn’t possibly get worse.

Of course, that’s when it did. When Olivia was no longer able to bear children after giving birth to two healthy boys, Malcolm’s nightly visits ceased. The household had settled into a kind of stasis. But that was simply the calm before the next storm.

When Malcolm’s father, Garland, came to the estate with his young pregnant wife, Alicia, Malcolm set his sights on a new target. He waited until she gave birth to her son, before he made his first attempt at assaulting her. Malcolm was even willing to kill his father to ensure his continued ability to rape Alicia presumably in the hopes of impregnating her with a daughter.

In order to help her friend, Olivia used Malcolm’s depravity against him once she learned Alicia was with child. In exchange for her sons’ secured financial future and Alicia’s independence, Olivia presented a plan to Malcolm.

She wouldn’t tell anyone her husband killed his father, and they’d claim Alicia’s child as their own allowing the young woman to go on with her life and escape Foxworth Hall. Unbeknownst to Malcolm, this was only the beginning of Olivia’s revenge against him.

What’s set to happen next? Here’s what we know!
