Is Sarah Paulson saying goodbye to the American Horror Story franchise?

The FX hit series American Horror Story has been around for over a decade. Needless to say, a lot has changed in the AHS universe, including cast members. That said, it doesn’t make it any easier when one of our favorites leaves the series. We are all still missing Jessica Lange, the AHS queen. And now, is there another series icon who is leaving the show? Is Sarah Paulson leaving American Horror Story for good?

At this point, with American Horror Story season 11 premiering in a few short months, we can’t blame any series regular for leaving to either take a break or explore other projects. Still, that doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier.

As the wait for season 11 continues, fans have been enjoying its spin-off American Horror Stories on Hulu as part of FX on Hulu. But let’s be honest, nothing beats the original series. The wait is almost over! American Horror Story season 11 arrives in October of this year, just in time for the Halloween season.

Is Sarah Paulson leaving American Horror Story?

In an interview with Variety, Paulson shared that she believes people might start getting sick of her, commenting, “let someone else scream and run and cry for a second.” Miss Paulson, the AHS fandom will never get tired of you, you’re a horror gem! Paulson is taking a break, though, and not appearing in this upcoming season, which makes us all wonder if she’ll ever return.

Paulson didn’t offer a straight answer. Instead, she suggested she is going to explore other project after a well-deserved break. We can’t wait to see what she’ll be taking on next and to support her! As for returning to the AHS universe, I believe she will. After all, she has to give us a final season, right?
