Apple TV hit series Ted Lasso is debuting in an upcoming video game

Ted Lasso has quickly become one of the hottest shows around the planet. The series follows American football coach Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) as he travels to England to coach AFC Richmond, an English football team.

The Apple TV+ series won seven awards at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards after the first season aired, and they followed that up with four additional wins after season two. The show started to film season three in March, but fans won’t have to wait for that long to see the gang back on their televisions.

Ted Lasso is debuting in an upcoming video game

EA Sports has included AFC Richmond and Ted Lasso in the upcoming FIFA 23 game. The news took the internet by storm on Wednesday. You can see a few of the animations for the characters in the tweet below by ESPN.

Having the chance to play the FIFA game with some of the beloved characters of Ted Lasso definitely could draw in an entirely new crowd to the game. Who wouldn’t want to play as Jamie Tartt, Roy Kent, Sam Obisanya, or Isaac McAdoo.

Ted Lasso is not expected to air season three until at least next year. So having the opportunity to play as some of the show’s best characters in this upcoming video game certainly will be a unique opportunity.

EA’s latest FIFA game is expected to come out on Sept. 26, 2022. The game will be available on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S, Xbox One, and on PC. The game is available for preorder now on all consoles available.
