With another time jump, we see Team Green attempt to take over the Iron Throne. Can Rhaenyra stop them in House of the Dragon Season 1, Episode 8?

Rhaenyra left King’s Landing. Now she’s even arranged for Laenor’s “death” so that she can marry Daemon. It’s time for the Targaryens to prove that they have what it takes to rule Westeros. The problem is Team Green has a position of power.

Otto Hightower is standing in front of the Iron Throne in the House of the Dragon Episode 8 preview. He makes it clear that as Hand of the King, he speaks for Viserys. This suggests that Viserys is getting weaker by the day, and it’s almost time for a new ruler to take the Iron Throne.

Will the people stand by Rhaenyra’s side when there is a male heir? Will Aegon become the ruler? Could Aemond be ruthless enough to take down his brother so he can take the Iron Throne? Considering his actions in the previous episode, I wouldn’t put that past him!

Another time jump in House of the Dragon Season 1, Episode 8

I will say that one of the weakest parts of this series is all the time jumps. I would have preferred a bit of a slower burn to get to know the characters in the story. Instead, I feel like we’re skipping over years that could have been eventful considering the game of thrones.

Yet, we’re just thrown in the deep end when it comes to connecting to the characters. It’s not stopped us hating a few of them—did anyone else wish that Daemon stabbed Cristen in the gut during the previous episode?

We will get to see how people take Rhaenyra and Daemon together. We’ll also get to see just what happened to Corlys to leave him fighting for his life.
