Is psychological thriller The Patient starring Steve Carell over on Hulu?

Wow! Psychological thrillerThe Patient really put us viewers through an emotional wringer.  There’s a lot that’s happened, especially with the latest episode. Is that the end or are there more episodes coming?

The tenth episode of the season really managed to break our hearts. We flash to a time when it seems like Alan reunited with his family, and is on good terms with his son Ezra. Unfortunately, that’s just a fantasy and not the real deal.

What actually happens is that Sam is able to get his hands on the therapist, and kills him. Though, the troubled patient is more sympathetic toward the doctor and his family. He leaves his body where his son and daughter can find it, and delivers a letter Alan wrote to them in the case that he dies. That episode certainly felt like a finale. So was it?

Is The Patient over on Hulu?

Yes, The Patient has just released its final episode on Hulu. The streaming service had ordered a 10-episode season, with the finale set for Tuesday, Oct. 25.

Will there a second season of The Patient?

As of October 2022, we haven’t gotten confirmation whether the streamer has decided to continue the story. Perhaps we can see Sam’s life chained up, or Ezra’s continued therapy. But the story did come to a pretty neat close, not leaving too much room for a second season.

And co-creator of the series, Joel Fields, has pretty much confirmed to USA Today that he believes the door has officially closed, with a season 2 not really on the horizon. Here’s what he told the outlet:

"We’re done after this. That’s The Patient, and we hope you enjoyed it. But we’re not done making shows, so we’re just trying to figure out what to do next."
