We’re just days away from the release of Friends star Matthew Perry‘s memoir, and as expected, excerpts have been coming out this week and they’ve got fans buzzing. The 53-year-old actor has already faced backlash after word got out that he said some bizarre things about Keanu Reeves in his book — which he’s apologized for — and all of this has proven he did not hold anything back while writing.

We know longtime fans of Friends and the actor cannot wait to get their hands on the book, titled Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, where he’s set to open up about his time on the NBC show, his experiences in the spotlight, and his struggle with addiction.

Perry has kept busy giving interviews to promote his tell-all, and in a recent chat with GQ, he talked about how he doesn’t believe his Friends co-stars are the target audience for his book. And because of that, he says they won’t read it. Could we BE any more surprised?! Here’s what he said.

With the exception of Lisa Kudrow who wrote the introduction to the memoir, Perry revealed the other Friends stars have not read it. And he doesn’t think they “care” enough to. As reported by People Magazine, Perry said:

"“Why would they read it? I don’t know. Because, you know, who cares? Addicts are going to care about this, and fans of Friends are going to care about this. But the cast is not going to really care about this.”"

Friends fans have a hard time believing Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer wouldn’t read Perry’s book. After all, when they all came together during the reunion special in 2021, they seemed as close as ever. Some of the actors have even spoken out about Perry’s substance abuse struggles, sending support to him. And Perry himself recently declared that doing Friends and having his co-stars “saved” him when he was at his lowest point.

All of these reasons lead to fans being pretty certain the cast of

Friends

will read Perry’s book. We’re sure we’ll be seeing Instagram posts from the gang showing all of their support for their co-star in no time.
