6 best horror shows to watch in 2023 and beyond (and 4 to skip)
Stranger Things season 5
Stranger Things is one of the best shows streaming, so of course we’ll recommend you watch the fifth and final season when it comes to Netflix! The sci-fi series has been a favorite for many throughout the years, and the most recent season really pulled out all the stops. Now, heading into season 5, we have so many questions.
Hawkins is in grave danger and only Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) can stop Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) from destroying everything. Max (Sadie Sink) is in a coma after dying and coming back to life, and we desperately want to see if Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) will somehow return. Plus, what’ll happen next for Nancy’s (Natalia Dyer) love triangle with Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) and Steve (Joe Keery)?
We just know the final season of Stranger Things will be explosive and it’ll be all anyone talks about when it comes out. Star David Harbour has estimated we won’t see it until mid-2024, and that makes sense. They haven’t begun filming yet and this show takes a lot of time in post-production with all of the effects. When it returns, however, it’ll be worth the wait.

The Walking Dead: Dead City
The Walking Dead just came to an end on Sunday, November 20. Fans of the series were sad to see the show conclude, but there’s a whole lot more from the franchise on the way. This is another one I’m feeling fatigued over, so I don’t think I’ll be watching The Walking Dead: Dead City. Right now, there are already three spin-offs, Fear The Walking Dead, Tales of the Walking Dead, and The Walking Dead: World Beyond. And there are several more in development! It’s too much for me.
The Walking Dead: Dead City will follow Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) as they head to New York City. Unless you’re a serious diehard fan of the franchise, we don’t particularly recommend it. If anything, the other spin-off, Daryl Dixon, sounds more entertaining as it will follow The Walking Dead’s best character, played by Norman Reedus, as he heads to France. I’m a fan of the zombie genre, but all of the spin-offs are hard to keep track of.
