When does The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder return with new episodes in 2023?

We’re more than proud to find out that the animated family sitcomThe Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is returning for another season! For those who don’t know, the show is a reboot of the Disney Channel Original Series, The Proud Family on the Disney-owned streaming service, Disney+.

The series follows teenager Penny Proud, as she navigates high school and her family’s dysfunctional dynamics in the 2020s. Trudy and Oscar, Penny’s parents are facing their own challenges. Many of Penny Proud’s friends returned such as Michael, Dijonay, Zoey, and LaCienega with new characters having been introduced in the first season as well. The series stars Kyla Pratt as Penny Proud; Tommy Davidson as Oscar Proud; Paula Jai Parker as Trudy Proud; JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama respectively.

The show has kept in touch with the original series’ humor while intertwining inclusionary and socially relevant storylines into the episodes. Fans who have been patiently awaiting know that the first season premiered Feb. 23, 2022 and released its finale, “Old Towne Road Part 1” on Apr. 20, 2022. It’s been awhile since fans of the series heard any word of the arrival of the second season. The last episode left off on a bit of a cliffhanger which means it’s even more imperative that the series continues in the new year.  Could this mean that there will be an “Old Towne Road Part 2”? If you want to know when the second season premieres, here’s what we know!

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder release date

According to an announcement on The Proud Family’s official Twitter, the show will return for its second season on Wednesday Feb. 1, 2023 and will, once again, be available to stream on Disney+.

• Courtney B. Vance as Merlin Kelly
