Shrinking on Apple TV+ release date, trailer, cast, and more

We all know and love him from How I Met Your Mother, and now actor Jason Segel is attached to a new project where he takes the lead in front of and behind the cameras. We’ll be able to see his talent showcased again in Apple TV+’s upcoming series, Shrinking!

The star will serve as a writer and executive producer behind the scenes, alongside Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein. Writers on the show also include Brian Gallivan, Rachna Fruchbom, Bill Posely, Annie Mebane, Wally Baram, Sofi Selig, and executive producer Neil Goldman.  Jeff Ingold, Liza Katzer, James Ponsoldt, and Randall Winston take on executive producing duties.

Shrinking release date

The comedy premieres Friday, Jan. 27, 2023 on Apple TV+. There will be a total of 10 episodes, with the first two streaming on premiere day. They will be followed by one episode weekly until the finale on Friday, March 24, 2023.

Shrinking synopsis

The series follows Jimmy’s character, a grieving husband whose wife has recently passed. As he struggles to cope with the loss, while being a dad and friend as well, he decides to do things differently in his everyday life – anyone he speaks to, Jimmy will give them “unfiltered” and “brutal honesty,” according to Apple TV+. Though this approach isn’t the best for this therapist, as he uses it on his clients as well which goes against his training and ethics. But perhaps speaking the truth will benefit those around him, and himself as well.

Joining Segel onscreen is Star Wars icon Harrison Ford! The Apple TV+ show will be one of the first major television roles for the Han Solo actor. We’ve shared the full cast list below:
