Ted Lasso fans do not have to wait too long before Season 3 of the hit show starts streaming on Apple TV+ on March 15, but during the wait, there is a show worth watching. Shrinking on Apple TV+ also has a similar feel to the hit Jason Sudeikis show.
Shrinking started streaming on Jan. 27, 2023, with new episodes coming out every Friday. Season one of the new show is scheduled to have ten episodes and will finish streaming on March 24, about a week after Season 3 of Ted Lasso begins.
Shrinking is the perfect watch for Ted Lasso fans waiting for new season
With five episodes out as of this writing, Shrinking is beautifully written with a great cast and witty humor that you would expect from creators Brett Goldstein, Bill Lawrance and Jason Segel.
The show centers around Jimmy, a grieving therapist played by Jason Segel, as he changes things up in his life and starts to tell all his clients whatever he thinks, ignoring all ethics and training in the process.
The cast includes Jason Segel, Jessica Williams, Harrison Ford, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie and Lukita Maxwell. Recently Segel and executive producer Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent in Ted Lasso, sat down with the Today show to talk about the new show.
The series does have a similar feeling to Ted Lasso in how well it is written and how every scene serves a purpose, but the general topics in the show are vastly different.
Shrinking deals with some really serious issues, like the grief people, experience after losing a loved one, as well as the pros and cons of being too honest at times. Overall, the show gives viewers the ability to see all their characters’ flaws and the struggles they are going through. That does not mean the show misses the mark on humor and the comedy aspect of the series, as some of the jokes in the show really are great.
Fans of Ted Lasso have a little under a month to wait for Season 3. In the meantime, Shrinking would be the perfect show to help pass the time till March.
