Sharpen your knives and pack your luggage, Scream fans! We are headed to New York City, where Ghostface is on the hunt once again. That’s right, we are leaving Woodsboro, which opens so many possibilities for the future of the franchise. Is Scream 6 the last movie in the horror series or will there be more?

The latest Scream chapter is not set in Woodsboro, which makes us realize that we would follow Ghostface anywhere in the states (and the world, really). That said, Scream 6 can’t be the final movie, right? The movie’s directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet shared their thoughts with Deadline in a recent interview.

Is Scream 6 the last Scream movie?

Here at Hidden Remote, the Scream movie series is one of our favorites in the horror genre. We want as many movies as possible and believe that Scream 6 taking place in New York is a sign that there can be so much more done with the franchise.

Unfortunately, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet didn’t share much when asked if there will be more to come. Bettinelli-Olpin shared that he and Gillet “want to be watching Scream movies whether we’re involved or not for the rest of our lives.” Gillet simply agreed, commenting that they are just “happy it’s back.” Sigh. They could’ve at least teased us!

It’s understandable, though, that they didn’t want to say too much. After all, the movie isn’t even out yet. Any details or hints they give us may spoil the events in Scream 6. And half of the fun in these movies is the thrills and surprises.

Scream 6 stars Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Jack Champion, Courtney Cox, Hayden Panettiere, and others. The movie is exclusively in theaters Friday, March 10, and is rated R for strong bloody violence, language throughout, and brief drug use.

Next. March movies to watch (and skip). dark
