When is Shazam 2 streaming on HBO Max?

Shazam! Fury of the Gods aka Shazam 2 performed horribly in theaters. So much so, that the VOD release of the DC movie was moved up. This has fans wondering if the Shazam 2 streaming release on HBO Max will also be here sooner than expected. Here’s what we know!

Unfortunately, Shazam! Fury of the Gods did not reach the numbers DC was hoping. Not even close. According to Box Office Mojo, the movie had a domestic opening of $30.1 million. At the time of this writing, Shazam 2 has a worldwide total of $128.1 million, a very low sum for such a high budget film. The Gods are disappointed, to say the least.

Is Shazam 2 available on Digital/VOD?

Yes! It is rumored that the VOD release of the movie was set for April 18 and this was moved up over a week earlier to April 7. This rumor appears to be false, but it does feel as if DC is rushing Shazam out of the big screen. Either way, movie fans can now rent or purchase Shazam 2 on VOD, such as Vudu or Prime Video.

Shazam 2 HBO Max release date

As of April 12, Shazam! Fury of the Gods is not streaming on HBO Max. This is typically the case as movies arrive to VOD a few weeks before heading to its streamer. That said, the movie won’t be streaming on HBO Max until early to mid May 2023. This will be right around the time the movie will become available on Blu-ray and DVD, which is set for release on May 23, 2023.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Rachel Ziegler, Adam Brody, and others. It is rated PG-13 for action sequences, language, and violence. Did you go see the movie in theaters opening weekend or are you waiting for the streaming release?
