The schedule of the competition series hasn’t been too complicated overall. But during the auditions, it only premiered new episodes once a week. Then afterwards starting in Hollywood Week, the show was on back-to-back nights on Sundays and Mondays. Well, that format is still going, and you can expect to see a new episode this evening.

In tonight’s new episode of American Idol, three contestants will be heading home as the Top 10 becomes the Top 7. When do you need to tune in to see the results? We’ve got the answer for you below!

What time is American Idol on tonight? (May 1, 2023)

American Idol airs a new episode tonight, Monday, May 1, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. “Judge’s Song Contest” will run for two hours and features this season’s Top 10 performing a song on the Hollywood stage from a list of tunes that judge’s Luke Perry, Lionel Richie, and Katy Perry have suggested.

During the episode, voting will be open so us at home can decide who we want to see continue on in the competition. Results for who makes it into the Top 7 will be revealed at the end of tonight’s episode.

Yesterday evening, we already had to say goodbye to Lucy Love and Nutsa, who were part of the Top 12 but did not continue forward into the Top 10. Rounding out the Top 10 are Colin Stough, Haven Madison, Iam Tongi, Marybeth Byrd, Megan Danielle, Oliver Steele, Platinum ticket winner Tyson Venegas, Warren Peay, Wé Ani, and Zachariah Smith.

It’s hard to believe three of these talented singers will be headed home tonight. The waterworks have already begun!
