What time are the MTV Movie and TV Awards 2023?

The 2023 MTV Movie and TV Awards airs Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 8 p.m. ET on MTV. The ceremony takes place at the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles and can also be streamed on Paramount+. The event is now a pre-taped special instead of live. It’s not known what that will look like exactly, especially since a large number of both presenters and nominees pulled out of attending, per Deadline.

Jennifer Coolidge will be honored with the Comedic Genius Award, and we can’t think of anyone else who deserves it more! The award is given to those who have “made incomparable contributions to the world of comedy,” per MTV.

Drew Barrymore was set to host the awards ceremony, but has decided to back out of the role to stand in solidarity with the ongoing WGA strike, according to Variety. Instead, the show will feature no host at all. Barrymore and MTV confirmed she will be tapped to lead the ceremony next year in 2024. Though Barrymore won’t be there, there’s a number of celeb presenters to be on the lookout for. Check out the MTV page for the full list!
