Reality cast: Who’s in the HBO film?

Reality may not be what it seems, especially during the events showcased in the HBO drama film Reality. The film is based on a true story that was adapted from the FBI interrogation transcript of American intelligence leaker Reality Winner. Prominent theater director Tina Satter previously staged the story as an Off-Broadway play called Is This A Room. The production eventually transferred to Broadway for a limited run. According to Deadline in June 2022, it was announced that the movie adaptation of the play would star Sydney Sweeney, Marchánt Davis and Josh Hamilton with this being Satter’s film directorial debut from a screenplay she wrote alongside James Paul Davis. The film received its world premiere at the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival on February 18 where the company HBO Films acquired the distribution rights.

From IMDb, the plot synopsis of Reality reads the following:

"“A former American intelligence specialist was given the longest sentence for the unauthorized release of government information to the media about Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections via an email operation.”"
