The Bold and the Beautiful recap (June 5): Brooke throws a fit over Taylor’s actions
By Sabrina Reed
Brooke was not alright on today’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful which picked up where we’d left off on Friday. She laid into Taylor for daring to share her feelings for Ridge to the man himself and accused her (soon-to-be former) best friend of trying to clear the way by sticking her with Deacon. While there does seem to be some truth to Brooke’s allegations, she was flying clear off the handle about what she’s calling the worst betrayal she’s ever suffered.
Taylor, who was upset though not to the degree that Brooke was, tried to explain herself, but Brooke didn’t want to hear it. She was galled, shocked, appalled, and hurt that Taylor had pushed Deacon at her, and Hollis earlier in the year, all so she could make a play for Ridge. The excuse that she’d done so out of friendship held no water for Brooke.
Their argument took a turn for the worst when Taylor had enough and started lodging accusations of her own at Brooke. However, hers were things we’ve heard before. She doesn’t think Brooke is right for Ridge, all she does is hurt him, and it’s disgusting that she’d conceived Hope with her daughter’s husband at the time aka Deacon Sharpe.
Brooke hit the nail on the head when she said she and Taylor are right back where they’d started before they chose to make their pact and step away from a life with Ridge. But Taylor is adamant that this all happened because she’d learned that Brooke was holding back her true feelings on Thomas and that if she could do that then she must be holding back about whatever may be going on between her and Ridge.
What happened on The Bold and the Beautiful today?
With the way Brooke was carrying on in the episode, you’d have thought she’d been keeping things on the up and up herself, but she was literally in the office earlier flirting with their ex, she had been giggling and getting a little spicy with him in a nighty months earlier, and the two shared a kiss under the mistletoe at Christmas. Innocent she is not, but she sure played like she’s been nothing but respectful about their pact.
In fact, she told Taylor that due to her holding back the truth of Thomas’ scheme so as not to ruin her wedding day, “Saint Taylor” didn’t deserve Ridge. Brooke made it clear that she was going to tell him exactly what Taylor’s been up to, but her frenemy stopped her. It was at this point that their argument got physical as the two shoved each other until Ridge came in and grabbed Brooke who flung herself around in anger until she settled.
He’d just come from a conversation across the hall with his father, Eric, in which they discussed Taylor’s admission of her feelings which Ridge couldn’t help but smile about. He even mentioned that she’d like to come on the Rome trip, but this wasn’t happy news for Eric who is very much Team Brooke and has been rooting for the two to reunite. He doesn’t want to see his son encourage Taylor’s advances because it’s his belief that Brooke is the love of Ridge’s life.
Ridge didn’t say one way or another whether he wanted to start things up again with Taylor, but he did take in his father’s words before the two parted ways. In an interesting piece of dialogue, Eric complained about the other members of the company using his office and sitting in his chair. While he doesn’t mind Co-CEOs Ridge and Steffy doing so, he’s not a fan of Katie, Zende, and the rest of their family treating it like it’s their space.
I’m not sure if that’s going to come up again, but I’m intrigued. I feel the same way about Ridge’s response that his father is Forrester Creations. Maybe this means Eric will be getting a storyline soon. In any case, when Ridge did walk in on his ex-wives fighting he was thrown for a loop and wanted to know what was going on.
Brooke exclaimed that Taylor never actually wanted to be her friend and that she was just using her as a way to get him. This claim made no sense considering they made their pact when Ridge was supposed to be choosing between the two of them and instead of letting him do that they told him that they’re going to be focusing on themselves and staying clear of a romance with him. This all could have been over and done with if they had just let him choose so, no, Taylor didn’t become her friend so she could have Ridge.
We’ll have to wait until next episode to find out how exactly Taylor is going to defend herself considering she’s not entirely innocent. Whatever happens, I’m sure it’ll be more entertaining than Deacon and Hollis gossiping about Taylor scheming, being rejected by Brooke, and the end of Braylor all while wiping down an already spotless bar.
Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
