When will Outlander season 6 and 7 come to Netflix?

Outlander is one of the most popular shows on television right now! The first half of season 7 premiered on the drama’s parent production company, Starz, on June 16, 2023 (and season 7 part 2 is coming in November 2024!). And while the series and newest season is available to stream on the Starz app, another platform you can find the television production on is Netflix! Though it does take some time for new seasons to be added depending on the country you live in.

Right now seasons 1 to 5 of Outlander are streaming on Netflix in the U.S. When can you expect to see seasons 6 and 7? We’ve have some predictions below.

When will Outlander season 6 come to Netflix? (Where to watch Outlander season 6)

Because of streaming rights, other countries outside of the United States are actually able to get season 6 before those of us in America. Typically when it comes to past seasons added to Netflix, a new season of Outlander is released two years after the finale of that particular season has aired on Starz.

For example, the last episode of season 5 came out on May 10, 2020 on Starz and the network’s streaming app. Then exactly two years later on May 10, 2022, the fifth season of the historical drama dropped on Netflix.

So what about season 6? The sixth chapter of the story aired its finale on May 1, 2022 on Starz. So that means U.S. viewers will probably see Outlander season 6 on Netflix at some point in May 2024. And that's not far off at all right now. Fingers crossed our predicted release date is correct!

Season 6 sees the Frasers trying to live a peaceful life on the Ridge as signs towards the American Revolution happening continue to build. But before Jamie and Claire worry about that, the arrival of the Christie family may cause conflict within their home and the community they’ve built.

When will Outlander season 7 come to Netflix? (Where to watch Outlander season 7)

Just like season 6 and its predecessors, the same pattern is expected when it comes to season 7. The newest installment premiered on Starz on June 27, 2023. We don’t know when the season finale will be yet as the 16-episode mega season has been split into two parts.

The first half came out and ran until August 2023. Then, the second batch of episodes will be released sometime in November 2024. Since the final eight installments are coming out in November, it's possible the season 7 finale will either wrap up before the end of the year, or early 2025 depending on the release date. So that means when it comes to Netflix, we're sorry to say you can most likely expect Outlander season 7 to be added to Netflix sometime in 2026 or even 2027.

But, there will be more to come eventually! The show has been renewed for an eighth and final season on Starz, and the prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood about Jamie and Claire's parents is in the works. It's unclear whether the prequel will ever come to Netflix eventually. But the good news is that there’s still a lot of Outlander to come in your future!

In season 7, without giving away spoilers, Young Ian and Jamie have to make their way towards Wilmington to save Claire she's wrongfully convicted of a crime. With the arrival of the American Revolution, there’s many changes coming and the family has to change with it.
