FBI: Most Wanted season 5 is not coming to CBS in 2023
FBI: Most Wanted became the first spin-off in the FBI franchise to debut, back in May 2019. And we’re definitely so glad the crime drama was created. Four seasons in, and we still want more. So what’s the deal with FBI: Most Wanted season 5?
The crime drama’s fifth season got the green light in May 2022, when CBS renewed the series for both the fourth and fifth seasons together. This doesn’t happen very often, so it’s definitely a good sign. What isn’t good unfortunately is that the new season isn’t coming in 2023.
Why isn’t FBI: Most Wanted season 5 coming to CBS in 2023?
FBI: Most Wanted season 5 is not coming to CBS in 2023 because of the writers strike and the actors strike. The Hollywood dilemma has caused multiple movie and television productions to press pause on work and filming, and the crime drama is no different. Since it got such an early renewal, it’s not known if any scripts have been written for season 5 yet. Even so, the actors aren’t working so filming couldn’t have begun. Now, all we can do is wait to see if there will be any resolve between the studios and the writers and actors’ unions.
When is FBI: Most Wanted season 5 coming out? (Release date predictions)
Right now, we don’t know when FBI: Most Wanted season 5 is coming out. Initially, the series was a part of CBS’ fall 2023 television schedule. It would have aired weekly on Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. ET following FBI and FBI: International (which both are also not coming in 2023).
In latest news as of Aug. 15, 2023, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) is looking over a proposal from the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), who represent the big studios. If they accept the proposal, then new contracts can be signed and the writers can get back to work. However there’s been no update regarding the actors union yet.
Stay tuned to Hidden Remote as we bring you updates about the premiere date of FBI: Most Wanted season 5 on CBS.
