Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers was presented as a miniseries, but that doesn’t always mean there will only be one season. Since the first season concluded on Sept. 22, 2021, fans of the mystery-thriller are curious to know if there will be more episodes. Is Nine Perfect Strangers season 2 happening? Here’s everything we know so far.

Based Liane Moriarty’s novel of the same name, Nine Perfect Strangers follows nine strangers arriving at Tranquillum House, a health and wellness retreat center in California. Masha, the resort’s director, gives her guests a warm welcome, but they all quickly realize this retreat is not all it promised to be.

The first season includes eight episodes. The first three dropped on Hulu on premiere day, Aug. 18, 2021. The rest of the episodes dropped weekly on Wednesdays.

Is Nine Perfect Strangers season 2 happening?

Yes! The Hulu drama has been renewed for a second season. As ScreenRant reminds us, the series premiere for Nine Perfect Strangers made history as one of Hulu’s most-watched original series. That said, it’s no wonder Hulu wants to give fans another season.

Nine Perfect Strangers season 2 release date

Unfortunately, we do not know when the upcoming season will premiere. Even though season 1 ended back in September 2021, it’s going to be a while before we get more updates on when to expect season 2 to drop. Variety reports that the second season is being developed, currently working on casting. Our best guess is that season 2 will arrive early to mid 2025.

As the source above shares, casting is hard at work! We do know that Nicole Kidman will return, and at the time of this writing, Kidman is the only star from the first season that is reprising her role. However, a new cast has been announced to join Kidman. That’s right,  Murray Bartlett is included on this list! Here’s everyone we know will star in season 2 (so far):

How many episodes are in Nine Perfect Strangers season 2?

The first season features eight episodes, so a bit on the shorter side. It’s worth noting, however, that eight episodes worked great for season 1. The story has a nice flow and it never feels overstuffed or as if a piece is missing. Since eight episodes was a success, it’s possible the second season will only include eight. At most, it may feature 10 episodes, but I don’t see more than 10 happening.

How many seasons of Nine Perfect Strangers will there be?

At this time, we only know that there will be two seasons. The series was billed as miniseries, so we are lucky to be getting a second season. As much as I would like to see more seasons happening, I believe season 2 will be the last one.

Why is Nine Perfect Strangers not streaming on Netflix?

Nine Perfect Strangers is a Hulu exclusive as it is a Hulu original series. This means that no other streamer has the right to stream it. So, to watch, if you haven’t already, you’ll need a Hulu account.
