2023 MTV VMAs performers list: Who’s performing at the Video Music Awards?

The 2023 MTV VMAs have a star-studded line-up ready for us this evening when the 38th annual event makes its debut on our screens tonight. That includes nominees, presenters, and of course performers. Who can you expect to see take the MTV stage?

There’s a total of 15 categories fans have been voting on. The biggest one is of course Video of the Year. This year’s nominees in the category include Doja Cat for “Attention;” Miley Cyrus for “Flowers;” Nicki Minaj for “Super Freaky Girl;” Olivia Rodrigo for “vampire;” Sam Smith and Kim Petras for “Unholy;” SZA for “Kill Bill;” and Taylor Swift for “Anti-Hero.”

Swift has been recognized the most this year for a total of eight nominations, with SZA coming in behind at a total of six. Shakira is the first South American Artist to be recognized for the Video Vanguard Award, which she will accept this evening.

The three-hour event airs tonight, Sept. 12, 2023 at 8 p.m. ET on MTV, and also streams live on Paramount+. Which artists will we see take the stage? We’ve got the answer for you below!

There’s 33 artists taking the stage at the 2023 MTV VMAs, with a total of 28 performances as some of the musical guests will be performing together.
