Who is Blair Cramer on General Hospital?

Updated: Sept. 15, 2023 – Fans of General Hospital have seen some familiar faces walking around Port Charles this year. All My Children‘s Jack Montgomery (played by Walt Willey) has made more than one appearance. And now Blair Cramer is waltzing her way onto the ABC daytime program.

The last time the One Life to Live character was seen on the soap was back in 2012. OLTL went off the air in January that year, but Blair paid a visit to Port Charles in March for a crossover event featuring Todd Manning (played by well known GH star Roger Howarth). 11 years later and now Blair is back. But who is she, why is she making a return, and who’s playing the character this go around? Here’s what we know!

Who is Blair Cramer?

Blair is the niece of One Live to Live‘s leading antagonist Dr. Dorian Cramer Lord. She’d originally started off as a biracial character, of Asian and white descent, due to the originating actress’ heritage. However, when Mia Korf left the role and Kassie DePaiva stepped into her shoes, references to the character’s Asian heritage were no longer mentioned. DePaiva played Blair for 20 years, her last episode coincided with the soap’s series finale.

When she was introduced in 1993, Blair was seeking normality. She’d been shuffled from foster home to foster home until she came of age. As an adult, however, she came to know her mother and family who resided in Llanview. She was also a social climber, starting relationships with wealthy men in order to gain financial security herself.

In fact, her storied on-and-off again flame is Todd Manning, who she’d originally tricked into a relationship with her by faking a pregnancy, according to Soap She Knows. Blair is a vixen archetype in the soap world, willing to do what it takes to get what she wants. But she’s also described as protective when it comes to her loved ones, toward her children most of all.

What is Blair Cramer’s General Hospital storyline in 2023?

TVLine reports Blair will be entering the plot as Martin Grey’s mysterious third ex-wife. She’ll also have scenes with Tracy Quartermaine. Her appearance on the soap will be brief as she’ll be featured on Friday, Sept. 15 and Monday, Sept. 18.

Who plays Blair Cramer on General Hospital?

Kassie DePaiva is reprising the role much to the delight of One Life to Live fans. In their eyes, there is only one Blair Cramer and it’s the actress who brought her to life for two decades. As for whether or not she’ll share a moment with Roger Howarth, it’s unknown. He’s not playing Todd Manning on the soap rather Austin Gatlin-Holt, but the General Hospital writers could give a little nod to the actors’ history on-screen together.

Will Kassie DePaiva and Roger Howarth share scenes on General Hospital?

As the outlet reports, in an interview with Soap Digest, DePaiva said the following about the possibility if she returned as Blair on General Hospital:

"There’s a lot of history there, a lot of time, a lot of water under that bridge. But I guess Todd is not Todd, right? So if I was to go back on that show, he probably wouldn’t recognize me. But I could go, ‘You’re hot. You look like somebody I used to know.’"

And, while we can’t confirm that’ll happen, the two actors did take a picture together on set which DePaiva shared on X (formerly Twitter).
