On today’s episode of The Young and the Restless, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and his daughter continued to clash. Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) jousted with her father about a deal she believes was bad. The Mustache claimed that she’s questioning his judgment, which played into the ruse he has been pushing to Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).

The plan of causing Victoria and Nate to distrust each other took further root. Mentioning the Kirsten Incorporate merger with Newman Media again reinforced the notion that Victor has lost touch with reality. His recent admissions to Nate, about recognizing his mental regression, appeared to be performance art as the audience knows. This is furthered when Nate tells Victor he can drive him to a meeting with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).

The audience knows that Adam is seriously concerned about his father’s quixotic behavior in recent months. He contacted a psychiatrist and invited Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to join them while the doctor intends to make a cursory assessment of Victor’s condition without him being aware of it.

What happened today on The Young and the Restless?

Nate gave Victoria an update about numerous troubling incidents he has witnessed concerning her father. It bothers Victoria that Nate kept that information from her, but he attempted to soothe her by focusing on recent events. Nate said that he suggested Victor be examined outside of Genoa City and use a business trip or vacation as a cover story.

It was smart to suggest Victoria should be interim Chief Executive Officer while Victor is presumably away. Victor is testing both people’s loyalty and in turn, is forcing this couple to question the trust they have developed.

Meanwhile, two side storylines are developing. One involves the concerns Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) have about Aria Porter-Copeland’s (Maddie and Millie Ingle) hearing aids. The other spotlights the unwrapping of Claire Grace’s (Hayley Erin) backstory.

Viewer’s heartstrings were tugged when Aria was diagnosed with hearing issues. It appears that her doctor will have confidence in the technology working to help Aria’s issue. She responded to Tessa’s singing, which confirmed that all is going well. Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) offered her support and served as a link to the Claire angle.

Erin’s made her debut in her second Y&R role, after first portraying as a younger version of Abby Newman Abbot (Melissa Ordway) years ago. Claire got Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) coffee order and recognized that Sharon used to be her daughter-in-law. Viewers are wondering if Erin’s newest character is targeting the Newman family due to an unreasonable grudge or if she might be biologically connected to it. The recent reveal of Claire’s packet of Newman nostalgia was Halloween creepy and trends toward further trouble heading into Thanksgiving.

Circling back to the gathering at the Genoa City Athletic Club, Nick spilled the soapy beans about Adam’s plan to have a doctor join them without his knowledge. Victor was outraged, claiming he does not need a specialist. That latest contradiction was followed by Victoria’s arrival. Victor then called her, Nikki, Adam, Nick, and Nate to a meeting at Newman Enterprises where he plans to reveal the truth, with whatever that means in Victor-speak.
