Yes, Chance has once again been shot on The Young and the Restless. But before you go pulling out your funeral black and ordering a farewell wreath, slow your roll. There’s been no word that Conner Floyd is leaving the soap. He does have different projects in the works but that doesn’t automatically mean he’s being written out. After all, the drama is only just beginning for his character.

I know that’s hard to believe since this week’s promo has him lying in a hospital bed unconscious but it’s true! A crisis tends to reveal someone’s feelings and sometimes it’s quite unexpected. That’s certainly going to be the case for Sharon who, judging by the promo, walks up on Summer holding her man’s hand while she says, “I can’t bear the thought of losing you.”

Um…shouldn’t that be Sharon’s line? She’s the one with the romantic connection to Chance but she’s about to find out that she’s not the only one who has skin in the game. Summer may be fresh out of a relationship with her longtime love, Kyle Abbott, however, that doesn’t mean she hasn’t set her sights on someone new.

This is a soap opera so no one should expect Summer to care that she’s clearly overstepping her bounds. Well, no one except for Sharon that is. Come Friday, Nov. 10, the two women will be “standing their ground” as they make it clear to one another where their feelings lie when it comes to Chance.

As for the man in question, he’ll likely still be unconscious as his body works to heal from the bullet he took to the chest. These two ladies vying for his affections wouldn’t be the worst thing to wake up to but his mother, Nina, might think so if she catches wind of it. That’s her son in the hospital and anything or anyone that disrupts his recovery will likely get tossed out, including Sharon and Summer.
