On today’s episode of The Young and the Restless, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) was surrounded by his loved ones. His mother, Nina Webster (Tricia Cast), and a lady who has fallen in love with him, Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), along with his godmother, Christine Blair Williams (Lauralee Bell), all rushed to the hospital. Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy), who, in typical soapy form as the show’s currently practicing doctor, just so happened to be on call and had the case.

Nina, Sharon, and Christine learned that a bullet was shot into Chance’s chest but thankfully went straight through. Devoted viewers know that Chance, who then resembled Donny Boaz, took a bullet a handful of years ago that was meant for Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). That segment of the audience, along with all longtime soap fans, likely were not nearly as worried as the trio that stood over the character Floyd now plays.

With Chance seemingly living, Elena encouraged the trio to take care of themselves. Their subsequent chat about the dangers of Chance’s profession was discussed while Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) arrived at the hospital and spent time alone with him.

What happened today on The Young and the Restless?

The interest that Chance began to show in Summer as the Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) death hoax storyline played out was notable. It signaled the drawing of a triangle that appears to be imposed through this flash conflict. Lanier’s character is rebounding from Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) foolhardiness, which makes her shift to Chance believable.

It will be interesting to see if Chance becomes aware of what Summer said to him. While entering the romance scene after Sharon, fans might be wise to place bets on Summer becoming a true threat to Case’s character. Chance will arguably not be two-timing Sharon if his feelings become split because they have not been together for that long.

Meanwhile, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) returned to the Genoa City Athletic Club. They needed time to digest and discuss what Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) revealed. Nick was concerned about Victoria’s state of mind. He received a text from their dad about accepting his offer to rejoin the company. She eventually left for the Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) Jazz Lounge where Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) met Devon Hamilton Winters (Bryton James).

GC is a small town. So, fans suspend disbelief to push the plot when believing that Victoria and Nate would happen to find themselves in the same location so soon after they left each other on tense terms after Hastings’ character was forced out of his job due to Victor’s paranoid conclusion. The lounge has become a magical setting, with hardcore Y&R devotees appreciating the effect of Neil’s presence which, was Victor and Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) gift.

Devon’s mention to Nate about their great-aunt’s heartfelt push for family reconciliation is aided by James’ character also including a poignant thought. He said that he could hear Neil’s voice encouraging him to be open to Nate. Dominic’s character appreciates the sentiment but knows healing with take time for all involved. He also wisely does not tell Devon about just being fired.

The entrance of Victoria was Devon’s cue to leave. They rehashed what happened at work and then discussed their takes, with Victoria exploring whether Victor might have been partially right in his assessment. She had hopes of him returning to the company and also wanted their relationship to continue, with Nate being uncertain.

Back at Genoa City Memorial Hospital, Chance awakened, smiled as Summer took his hand just as Sharon walked in. Viewers might flashback to math class and see Sharon standing at farthest point of a Scalene triangle, with Chance and Summer being at the two closer points.

Next. Chance is shot once again on The Young and the Restless (Nov. 8 recap). dark
