4 ABC shows came to an end in 2024 (and ABC announced the ending of another)

ABC brought four shows to an end in 2024, with two of them getting "final seasoned." However, they're not the only ABC shows wrapping up soon.

STATION 19 - DisneyÕs ÒStation 19Ó stars Jaina Lee Ortiz as Andy Herrera, Jason George as Ben Warren, Jay Hayden as Travis Montgomery, Danielle Savre as Maya Bishop, Barrett Doss as Vic Hughes, Boris Kodjoe as Robert Sullivan, Stefania Spampinato as Carina DeLuca, Carlos Miranda as Theo Luis, Josh Randall as Captain Sean Beckett, and Merle Dandridge as Chief Natasha Ross. ABC was very mean when it came to cancellations and endings in 2024. Four shows came to an end or were abruptly canceled, while the network announced that a fifth would wrap up in 2025.

2024 was not a good year for a lot of networks. We said goodbye to some great shows, and we’re still salty about some of the cancellations. There were a couple of ABC shows that we wanted to see more of, especially considering they ended with a shortened season due to the pandemic.

We take a look back at the cancellations of 2024. Hopefully, 2025 will be better.

The ABC shows that ended in 2024

Two shows were given final season orders as the strike action came to an end. It was disappointing news for fans of the shows. The Good Doctor was the first to get the orders, coming to an end after seven seasons. This was one of those medical dramas that brought to light a lot of important social topics. The final season alone delivered us a devastating death that connected to an important topic in the world right now.

The other show to end was Station 19, and I’m still salty about this one. Not only were the storylines and characters still relevant to today’s world, but it was clear that a lot of development was still needed. Some of that development was rushed to help bring storylines to an end. Fans deserved better than 10 episodes to quickly wrap up a story—and I’m still asking to see Jack, Carina, and Maya on Grey’s Anatomy!

NOT DEAD YET - ÒNot The End Yet/Not A Ghost YetÓ - Nell finds out that Duncan is selling the SoCal Independent, so she takes matters into her own hands to save her job when Lexi seems unwilling to help. Then, Nell navigates an unexpected incident that leaves the sale of the newspaper on hold. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 24 (8:30-9:32 p.m. EDT) on ABC. (Disney/Temma Hankin) JENIFER LEWIS, GINA RODRIGUEZ

The ABC shows canceled in 2024

Two shows came to abrupt ends, and they both involved Gina Rodriguez. The first, which I’m definitely still salty about, was Not Dead Yet. This comedy series brought some great stories about unfinished business and empathy. Obituaries are important, but there’s far more to a person than what initially meets the eye. People deserve to have their stories told, and Noy Dead Yet delivered on that message.

Rodriguez’s reality series Lucky 13 also came to an abrupt end. This show gave contestants 13 statements and they had to figure out whether they were true or false. The series didn’t quite find its following, and it wasn’t all that surprising that the series ended up being canceled by the network.

AMES MCNAMARA, EMMA KENNEY, SARA GILBERT
THE CONNERS - "We Continue to Truck" - As Darlene grapples with a life-changing offer from Ben, an unexpected conversation with David turns her world even more upside down. Relationship problems lead Jackie to the bottom of the bottle at the last place she remembers being truly happy. Becky's hopes of a happily ever after with Emilio are jeopardized when Dan delivers alarming news, on the season finale of "The Conners," TUESDAY, JAN. 22 (8:00-8:31 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network.

One show will end in 2025

Like with The Good Doctor and Station 19, one show was given a final season order. The episodes won’t air until 2025, though. It’s all about The Conners.

This show was a spin-off of the Roseanne revival after Roseanne Barr’s racist tweets that led to her being fired. However, while the series was popular, it was also expensive. ABC had to make a choice, and rather than just cancel it, ABC gave the series a six-episode final season, which is slated to arrive in March 2025.
