Could FBI: International be losing yet another agent?! The fall finale had one team member’s life in the balance!
Caution: This article contains SPOILERS for FBI: International Season 4 Episode 8
FBI: International fans are by now used to the show having an incredible cast turnover for a series that has only been on the air for four years. The only original cast members remaining are Carter Redwood (Andre Raines) and Vinessa Vidotto (Cameron Vo). This season saw the addition of Jesse Lee Soffer as Wes Mitchell, the new leader of the Fly Team.
The midseason finale, “You’ll Never See It Coming,” saw Wes preparing for the trial of Greg Csonka (Beau Knapp), the mobster who killed Mitchell’s partner. But things got hinky when the key witness was killed in jail by Csonka, with others taking credit for it.
The trial was rough, too, as Csonka’s lawyer tried to pin the whole thing on his accomplice and also attacked Wes on the stand. Wes’ buddy Tyler (Jay Hayden), who had just joined the team was called on to testify in a way to shade Wes more.
The team had to fight to keep the case going, tracking down a “bagman” with info on Csonka’s illegal activities. The guy shot himself, but the team managed to bluff Csonka into thinking he was still alive, so he agreed to a deal that would keep him in a Hungarian prison for 30 years.
Who got shot in the FBI: International season 4 fall finale?
It looked like it was done, but sadly, the episode lived up to its title with a move no one saw coming. As the Fly Team accompanied the prison van with Csonka, it was sideswiped by a truck. Csonka escaped in a car and while trying to stop him, Vo took a nasty gunshot to the back.
Raines stuck with her at the hospital as the rest of the team hunted Csonka, only to find out he’d fled by plane. They got back to the hospital, where Raines informed them Vo was in surgery, and it didn’t look good with her going into shock.
The episode ended with Wes and Tyler ready to hunt down Csonka and “it’ll be badges off.”
That was a big cliffhanger that made fans worried about Vo’s future with the show.
Is Vo leaving the Fly Team in FBI: International?
There’s been no word that Vinessa Vidotto is thinking of leaving the series. Previous cast exits, such as Luke Kleintank and Heida Reed, were announced well in advance, with both actors saying a key issue was filming so much in Europe.
Vidotto has been silent, although interesting was an Instagram post of her with a sign saying “relax.” While that was about the show taking time off, it could also be her assuring fans she and Vo aren’t departing soon.
However, it’s also possible the producers are throwing a big twist by killing off a major character without warning. It would be a huge turn for the show to sell the danger and naturally leave the Fly Team rocked afterward. That Tyler is part of the team hints he’s stepping in for Vo. It can also simply be that Vidotto needs time off for personal reasons, so the excuse is Vo surviving and taking time to recover.
Fans have to wait until next January for the answers, yet the hopes that Vo will survive, although likely not the same after this wild turn.
FBI: International Season 4 returns on Tuesday, Jan. 28 at 9/8c on CBS.
