FBI: International has a new agent on board but that may spell huge trouble for Wes Mitchell!

Caution: This article contains SPOILERS for FBI: International Season 4 Episode 12

FBI: International fans know about the show’s cast shakeups, which include brief stints from some characters. That included Tyler Booth (Jay Hayden), and an old friend of team leader Wes Mitchell (Jesse Lee Soffer), who worked with them for a few missions before getting a new team.

FBI: International season 4, episode 12, titled “Blood Doesn’t Become Water” had the team tracking a couple suspected of killing their son in Baltimore and fleeing to Europe. They were aided by Riley Quinn (Veronica St. Clair), a Baltimore field agent involved in the case. It looked to be just her helping out, but in reality, Riley had an agenda.

How Quinn got another mission in FBI: International

In her introductory scene, Riley met FBI section chief Dave Zaleski, who ran down her background, rising up through the ranks quickly. He then gave her the assignment to the Fly Team, where she was to really investigate Mitchell, who Zaleski was convinced was somehow corrupt.

Quinn tried to refuse, only for Zaleski to play dirty by bringing up Quinn’s brother, who was in trouble with the ATF, and this was a way to help him out of it.  Thus, Quinn reluctantly agreed to be a spy inside the team.

Riley worked well with the team, watching Mitchell handle himself against Turkish mobsters and reunite a kidnapped youth with his father. The episode ended with her telling Zaleski that Mitchell “was one of the best.”

Quinn figured that was the end of it only for Zaleski to say she was staying with the Fly Team until she found evidence of Wes breaking the rules too much. As soon as she hung up on Zaleski, Riley met Wes, who had just gotten word she’d be sticking around and was happy to have her on while Quinn hid her lack of excitement.

Why is Zaleski after Mitchell?

The preview for FBI: International Season 4, Episode 13, “You’ve Been Greenlit,” has Quinn feeling guilt over being “a rat.” She’s still pushed by Zaleski and the preview shows something happens that has Wes being arrested with the rest of the team shocked.

The big question is why is Zaleski so obsessed with taking down Wes? Mitchell has hinted he’s skirted the rules a lot in his career so it’s likely he rubbed some higher-ups in the FBI the wrong way. However, Zaleski seems to be taking it to a new level, including using Quinn’s brother against her.

That’s going to be hitting Quinn harder as she clearly wants to help her brother with his problems. Yet the Fly Team may not be so understanding of her loyalty and instead see her as a spy and rat bringing down their boss.

Quinn may end up turning on Zaleski and find a way to help Mitchell. However, the fact that an FBI supervisor is going to such lengths to take Mitchell down hints there’s more to his past than his teammates know.

This will come up in a big conflict that’ll shake up the Fly Team and Wes Mitchell in particular to make FBI: International more exciting.

FBI: International airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on CBS.
