All the FOX shows on the bubble in 2025 so far (Which FOX shows could be canceled?)

FOX has a lot still on the bubble, which is perfectly normal. Which FOX shows could be canceled and which ones are likely to be renewed?
RESCUE: HI-SURF: L-R: Adam Demos, Arielle Kebbel and Robbie Magasiva in the “Drop In” RESCUE: HI-SURF episode airing Monday, Nov. 11 (9:02-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

There are still a lot of FOX shows sitting on the bubble in 2025, which isn’t surprising for this time of the year. A lot of the renewals and cancellations come just ahead of the May Upfronts.

This is a chance to look at the shows that are airing right now. We can make a prediction on the FOX shows that could be canecled or renewed, using the linear ratings for the most part. Of course, FOX looks at more than just the linear ratings, but this is a strong indication of a show’s future.

So far, four FOX shows have been renewed: Universal Basic Guys, Doc, Murder in a Small Town, and Krapopolis. One show has come to an end, 911: Lone Star. That’s a lot still on the bubble!

FOX shows likely to be canceled: Accused, Going Dutch, and more

The main show that I’m concerned about right now is Accused. This legal drama was intriguing and thought-provoking during the first season. It brought some intriguing storylines, and it wasn’t surprising that it was renewed. Then there was a year wait and a much shortened second season. It wasn’t as good as the first, and Accused now sits at the bottom of all shows on the network, according to TV Series Finale.

THE GREAT NORTH: Worried that she’s inherited Beef’s fear of romance, Judy forces her dad to get back out there by attending a meat auction and singles mixer in the hopes of bringing home a new love, and also maybe some sausages, in the “Romantic Meat-Based Adventure” episode of THE GREAT NORTH airing Sunday, Feb. 21 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The Great North is also at the bottom. While Grimsburg also is, I could see that animated comedy getting through another season (and I’ll explain why further down). The Great North dropped in the viewership this season, and the network isn’t exactly pushing the promotion of the show that hard. There are a lot of animated comedies on the network right now, and FOX may decide that one or two need to go.

As for comedies, Animal Control and Going Dutch are struggling. I have a feeling that Animal Control may be able to hold on, but it’s definitely going to be a tight one. I can’t say for sure. Going Dutch is one I do expect to see canceled. The promotion for the series hasn’t been great— so much so that I see nobody talking about it online!

FOX shows likely to be renewed: The Simpson, Bob’s Burgers, and more

Animation Domination continues to perform well on Sundays, both in the football season and in the midseason. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if the majority of the animated lineup is renewed. There were rumors of more Simpsons coming, but the series hasn’t officially scored a renewal just yet.

I think this, Bob’s Burgers, and Family Guy are going to get new seasons for sure. The shows remain at the top of all FOX shows. I also think we’ll see more Grimsburg. While the series is at the bottom of all animated shows, it’s actually picked up in the linear ratings compared to last year. The demo remained steady, and the total audience went up by 3%. It’s rare for a series to go up in the linear ratings, and FOX will want to reward the series for managing that. That’s my personal opinion, anyway!

Then there’s Rescue: Hi-Surf. I’ll be honest and say that I was surprised this series didn’t get a post-Super Bowl timeslot. That was scrapped and given to The Floor instead, leading to concerns that it would be canceled. Yet, it’s the No. 3 drama on the network, just behind the ending 911: Lone Star and already renewed Doc. It doesn’t make sense for FOX to cancel the series at this point.

FOX may want to see how The Cleaning Lady and Alert: Missing Persons Unit do, though. The two shows won’t premiere until later this month, and that means some questions over how they perform and whether they’ll be renewed as well. I’m not making a judgment on either of them just yet!
