It looks like Suits: LA is bringing in one of the bigger stars of the original series for its much-anticipated premiere!

Ever since NBC announced plans to revive Suits with a new Suits: LA show, a big question was whether any of the original USA Network series stars would appear. A spinoff not using any actors from the original show seemed off as fans would appreciate some connection.

It looks like it’s coming as Deadline reports that Gabriel Macht will appear in the new spinoff as Harvey Specter! While NBC hasn’t confirmed it yet, Macht himself shared an Instagram video literally slipping back into the shoes of Harvey with the line, “When an old friend is in need…it’s time to take care of things and make those very ‘things’ right.”

This is building even more buzz for the spinoff, which is set to premiere on NBC on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025. It appears Macht will be around for at least three episodes and his appearance alone promises to get fans interested in this new spinoff.

What is Suits: LA about?

Suits was always one of USA Network’s biggest hits. The 2011-2019 show is about Mike Ross, a legal genius (Patrick J. Adams) working for a law firm despite not being a lawyer, connected with fans thanks to its great storytelling and a terrific cast. That included Macht as Harvey, a stylish and skilled lawyer.

While Adams and co-star Meghan Markle left the show in Season 7, Macht stayed on the way to the end of its nine-season run. The series ended in a great finale as Harvey finally married longtime assistant Donna (Sarah Rafferty) and seemed set to break off for his own firm.

The new spinoff was ordered by NBC in 2024, boosted by how Suits became a monster hit on Netflix. It stars former Arrow star Stephen Amell as Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York who “has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles.”

Also in the cast are Josh McDermitt as Stuart Lane, “who joined up with his buddy Ted Black to build an L.A. firm”, Lex Scott Davis as Erica Rollins, “a savvy and strong-willed rising star at the firm”, and Bryan Greenberg as Rick Dodsen, Ted Black’s protégé in the entertainment division.

It’s hinted Harvey and Ted have a past together, possibly when both worked for the New York City prosecutor’s office. Harvey might need Ted’s help on a case or vice versa or even the possibility they’re going against each other in court. So far, Macht is the only one announced so it’s unsure if Rafferty might pop in as Donna.

This has fans hopeful other past Suits actors might drop in, like Adams as Mike Ross. For now, Suits: LA, which was already expected to be a hot spinoff, is getting hotter with one of the original stars giving this spinoff an extra boost!
