A new episode of Accused isn't on tonight, but here's when it's back
It's going to be a bit of a wait for the next episode of Accused. When does the Fox series return?
Accused was a good breakout success for Fox in early 2023. Adapting a British series, the anthology tells a different story each week of someone on trial. As the episode unfolds, flashbacks show the setup to the crime and often revealing that the actual crime isn't what the audience expects.
The show stands out in how each episode tells a brand new story with a big-name actor in the lead role. After a successful first season, it was renewed, only to be delayed by the 2023 Hollywood strikes. Fox decided to hold the show back until the fall of 2024, when it premiered in October with their usual lineup.
The show has maintained its quality in the first few episodes. It keeps with top guest stars such as Felicity Huffman, Taylor Schilling and Nick Cannon. However, fans expecting to tune in for a new episode are going to have to wait a while!
Why is Accused taking a break?
The reason why the show is taking a three-week break is due to two huge real-world events that Fox will be carrying out on the next two Tuesdays.
First, Tuesday, Oct. 29, will feature Game 4 of the World Series between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The World Series is always a big deal for Fox and even bigger this year, with two top teams vying for the championship. So it's logical we won't get any new Fox programming.
Then Tuesday, Nov. 5 will have Fox, like all networks, covering the 2024 Presidential Election with constant updates on the state of the various races so no room for any original programming.
So it's a bit of a wait, but Fox promises some major drama when Accused returns!
Who stars in the return of Accused?
A promo confirms that Episode 4 will premiere on Fox on Tuesday, Nov. 12. It's notable as it brings back the show's first major guest star, Emmy-award winner Michael Chiklis. He starred in the series premiere as a father worried his son was planning a school shooting.
Rather than this being a sequel to that episode, "Justin's Story" has Chiklis playing a new character, a wrestling coach worried his star player is falling into a bad crowd. As with any Accused episode, there's more to the events than there seems.
So it's a bit of a wait before Accused returns but it should be worth it for a great addition to this hit series!
Accused Season 2 returns Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 8/7c on Fox.
