It’s time for the crossover event that we’ve been waiting for. It’s the first One Chicago crossover in five years, and it doesn’t look like it will disappoint.
Most of the crossover events in the past have felt more like individual episodes of the shows that just happen to be focused on a specific case. There was one that did bring us something that felt like a three-hour movie, and it looks like this latest crossover is going to do the same.
It’s important to note that the actual episodes are switched around a little bit. The night will start with a Chicago Fire episode and then run into Chicago Med before ending with Chicago PD.
What starts the emergency in the One Chicago 2025 crossover event
The first responders are needed when there’s a major gas explosion that rocks the city. People on the underground are trapped, and it leads to a few of Chicago’s finest to head down there. Kidd is one of them, as she goes down with Ruzek and Trudy to help people stay calm and find a way out.
However, this is where things go wrong. It looks like there’s a cave-in, and that means there is very little air. While Trudy is able to get out, she’s in a precarious situation. Poor Mouch! He’ll rush to the hospital to be with Trudy while the doctors of Chicago Med work on her there.
Ruzek and Kidd are trapped in the subway, and it looks like they’re running out of air. It’s going to be all hands on deck to find a way to get down there and save them all. Firehouse 51 and Intelligence will stop at nothing to get their own out. Burgess and Severide are sure to be beside themselves with worry considering who is trapped.
It does mean that we’ll get to see some great team-ups throughout the episode. Violet and Novak will get to team up with the Med doctors and nurses who go out to aid treat the wounded, while Ruzek and Kidd get to lean on each other and find a way out of the mess. This is sure to be a huge event.
