Abbott Elementary season 3 celebrates Mother's Day in tonight's episode! (Preview)

With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, tonight's episode of Abbott Elementary season 3 is helping us celebrate a bit early! Be sure to tune in this evening at 9 p.m. ET so you don't miss it. After Gregory's complete awkwardness last week, will we see that continue in season 3 episode 12?

In the previous episode, season 3 episode 11 titled "Double Date," oh my goodness the amount of times I covered my face in second hand embarrassment and cringed was just too much. I get it Gregory. Your feelings are all over the place. But it was just hilariously awkward. Jacob and his new boyfriend Avi are going out, and the firefighter thought it would be a good idea to make it a double date. He invites his co-worker Olivia (Lana Condor) and Jacob brings Gregory along.

The two actually seem to hit it off at first and Gregory is enjoying his time with his date. That is until he spots Janine and Manny together at the bar while the foursome are waiting for a table at the restaurant they're supposed to be at. The teacher spends the rest of the night unable to take his eyes off Janine and Manny, and completely ignores Olivia which is a shame. She did not deserve that. It all comes to a head when Manny moves to sit next to Janine in the booth instead of across from her, and leans in to whisper something in her ear.

Gregory freaks out and suddenly stands up, shouting "woah, woah, woah... hey Janine" and everyone in the bar turns to him. My face turned red just watching this unfold. Then in case he couldn't make it worse, Gregory walks over and starts obsessing with finding out if Janine and Manny are in fact on a date. Janine was just tying up some loose ends at the district before she and Erica were going to head to the hookah bar afterwards. And everything had a plausible explanation. That's why she's so dressed up, beautifully I might add. The whole time I was just thinking, Gregory stop talking.

The amount of jealousy was crazy and hilarious at the same time. I need these two to either just officially put this behind them, or start dating already. Elsewhere in the episode, the rest of the teachers try their hand at Ava's first book club meeting. But they all end up fighting over who would lead them all in an apocalypse. By the end of the episode, Jacob tells Gregory he needs to do something about his feelings and he agrees. So will we see that happen this evening?

Perhaps Gregory will ask Barb for some advice. Per ABC, tonight's episode titled "Mother's Day" will see Barbara inviting Gregory to her family's Mother's Day brunch. I wonder why. We've met Gregory's dad and know their complicated relationship. But the show hasn't mentioned his mom. Interesting. Plus if you remember, Gregory did date Barbara's daughter, Taylor. Will the Gregory/Janine relationship hit another snag? Perhaps Gregory and Taylor hit it off once again at the brunch.

Elsewhere, "Jacob scrambles to figure out how to organize a school field trip." There's no promo, but the network did share plenty of images for us to feast our eyes on!
