Uh-oh! It's about to get tense over at Forrester Creations! The preview for the week of May 27 on The Bold and the Beautiful showcased Steffy flexing her powers as Co-CEO of the fashion firm and it's not in her former rival Hope Logan's favor.

I'll note the writers have been playing fast and loose on how the line has been doing since Thomas jetted off to Paris and left Hope in the lurch. Though we all knew that Zende wasn't able to turn the brand around the last time Thomas left, RJ is a green designer, and Luna's an intern, we were told that things were going swimmingly. I was skeptical especially because of the drama the trio were steeped in but that's what we were being fed, so I went with it.

Then, in an about face that came out of nowhere, Hope for the Future was said to be in a precarious place and Hope was worried. Well, it looks like that's just the wedge Steffy needs to lobby for the line to be closed. In the preview, she said it was a business decision but, honestly, it doesn't quite feel like that's the whole of this budding plot.

I say this because this newfound need to end HFTF is coming on the heels of Sheila and Deacon's wedding which Hope attended. Steffy had said that she didn't care that the two were tying the knot though she scoffed at the idea that their union could be a good thing. What concerned her was that Hope might influence her husband, Finn, since Hope seems to agree with Deacon that Sheila's turned over a new leaf.

Steffy is determined to keep Finn's birth mother away from them and their family. Anyone who interferes with that mission won't be allowed around him. She made that clear when speaking to Brooke and her father, Ridge, about the matter. Steffy's aware Finn takes Hope's opinion into consideration and the last thing she wants is for Hope to get into his head that he should pursue a relationship with Sheila.

Finn said that he wouldn't attend his birth mother's wedding, and he intended on keeping his word to his wife, but he unexpectedly walked in on the ceremony. Stunned, he did tell Sheila that he'd only been at Il Giardino to pick up pizzas, but he wound up staying when she asked. Hope didn't say anything to deter him, rather she seemed to beseech him. Not with words but with her eyes. That might not have had an impact on his decision to stay but she, too, seemed to want him to stay.

Once Steffy learns that Finn attended the wedding after all, that's not going to go over well. When she's on a mission, she can be ruthless. Closing HFTF may be the line she draws in the sand and a warning to Hope to back off, she's not above using whatever means she has to protect her loved ones.

While this would be overkill, it would certainly send a message. The problem, of course, is that Hope already blames Steffy for Thomas leaving town. If her brand is taken, too, Hope may make good on her threat to do to her former rival what was done to her. Considering her growing bond with Finn, that would mean she'd be ready and able to be a thorn in Steffy's side when it comes to her marriage.

Whatever happens, it does look like things are heating up on The Bold and the Beautiful. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote for more news and coverage!
