Found season 2 is going to be a gut punch. We know this because Sir is on the loose, Gabi's secret about holding him hostage in her basement is out to everyone but Mark, and Sir has kidnapped Lacey. The season opener, "Missing While Bait," will see Mosely & Associates spiraling due to Gabi's actions. Lacey's childhood memories are set to resurface as well which will likely give us our first look at her mother, Gina.

Entertainment Weekly reports that we'll see Gina in flashbacks set after Gabi and Lacey escape Sir and in the present. But the outlet also mentioned that the casting had yet to be revealed. Back in July, news broke that Danielle Savre (Station 19) had joined Found in a recurring role for season 2. Given the actress playing Gina is meant to appear in two time periods, it may be safe to rule Savre out especially since EW noted that the casting of Lacey's mother hadn't been disclosed yet. This makes me think that Savre may be playing Sir's relative instead.

While speaking to the outlet, Hampton said that we will be meeting one of his family members as the show continues to expand and explore the personal lives of the people around Gabi. She shared the following:

"That’s what the show is designed to do. Not only bring light to those no one is looking for, but also show the different paths that each member [of her team] has gone through to get where they are."

If Savre is playing someone related to Sir it'll be interesting to see how their dynamic shifts the story. We know who he is to Gabi, Lacey, and the wider world who know about his crimes. But who is he to this family member? How are or were they with him? Certainly their interactions shaped who he is. For good or for bad may or may not be up for interpretation but it'll enrich the story nonetheless.

Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll had nothing but praises to sing about what Savre has brought to Found in the role she's portraying.

"The character is a lot of fun. We’ve loved having her on the show, and she’s loved playing it. I think she pretty much interacts with almost everyone on the show, which has been such a beautiful, fun energy to bring in. And she’s such an incredible talent. I leave it to the audience to decide how they feel about her [character]. But for me, it’s been pure joy."

Still, the remark that she's leaving it up to the audience to decide how to feel about Savre's character is intriguing. If she is indeed playing a member of Sir's family that complicates things. She could be "fun" in the sense that she's amazing to watch on-screen and interacting with the other characters. That she brings a kind of energy that pops but that doesn't necessarily mean the character is fun or joyful.

We'll have to wait and see but the more that's revealed about Found season 2, the more intriguing it sounds. Stay tuned to Hidden Remote for more TV news and coverage. The procedural's sophomore season premieres Thursday, Oct. 3 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. For the full broadcast Fall TV schedule, click here.
