FOX teases what's coming in their Animation Domination block in Fall 2024! (Release dates and plot details)
Fox recently announced exciting news regarding their Fall 2024 Animation Domination block, which promises a spectacular September premiere. One animated show that I'm looking forward to is The Simpsons' season 36. It's no secret that I love The Simpsons and have followed the family since their debut back in the 80s. After being on the air for over thirty years, Homer and his clan continue their hilarious satirical takes.
And if the return of The Simpsons heading back to their couches this September isn't enough for you to "woo-hoo!" then an Emmy nom for the season 35 episode "The Night of the Living Wage" will. Season 36 has its work cut out for them if Disney Entertainment wants to keep their Emmy record for one of their most popular shows. I have no doubt that their record won't falter anytime soon since the value of production and storylines have been phenomenal.
However, if you prefer a bite with Bob's Burgers and learning about pseudo-Greek/Roman history on Krapopolis, we've got you covered! Animation Domination will additionally include these Emmy-nominated shows in their fall schedule.
Although Krapopolis has only one season under its belt, it has succeeded in the ratings and become a favorite among fans. Now gearing toward their sophomore year, fans can expect more family chaos and old-age politics in season 2.
Finally, replacing Family Guy, which will drop midseason, the new show Universal Basic Guys follows two out-of-work men, Mark and Hank. They receive monthly monetary installments thanks to a new government program. With their newly acquired "wealth," the brothers embark on a personal journey to discover their true purpose.
So, mark your calendars for Sunday, Sept. 8, because that's the date Animation Domination kicks-off its return!
What's in store for Fox's Fall 2024 Animation Domination
Universal Basic Guys
Premiere date: Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. ET
Note: The show will move to its regular timeslot on Sept. 29 and will air at 8:30 p.m.
To be honest, I don't have high expectations for Universal Basic Guys, but I'll give it a chance and take it from there. The reason I don't expect much is that the story feels unoriginal and a reminder of the COVID-19 pandemic when many had to collect unemployment benefits. But who knows? Maybe Universal Basic Guys will be a sleeper hit for Fox, and the guys will be smart with their money. Here's the official synopsis.
"Universal Basic Guys centers on brothers Mark and Hank Hoagies, who, after losing their jobs at the hot dog factory to robots, are given $3,000 a month in a new basic income program. Now, they’re using their free time and free money to find purpose in a world where they’re no longer needed."
The Great North season 4
Unlike the rest of the Animation Domination block, The Great North won't be premiering a new season in September. Its fifth season has been held until the midseason. However, fans can anticipate the premieres for the last episodes of season 4 starting Sept. 8 at 9 p.m. ET.
The Simpsons season 36
Premiere date: Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. ET
Big things will happen in Springfield for The Simpsons, and we're not only getting one but two "Treehouse of Horrors" to celebrate Halloween this year. The specials have been a tradition since 1990 and remain one of the comedy's most popular franchises. I ensure that I watch "Treehouse of Horror" episodes on my The Simpsons binges since they're so different than a classic or regular Simpsons excerpt.
FOX dropped some spoilers for season 36 (and other shows) in their press release. The Simpsons are famously known for predicting the future, and it appears that the trend will continue when TV becomes our future's control since many are hooked to it, as well as their smartphones and other devices. You can read more about the offerings of season 36 from the release below!
"In The Simpsons Season 36 premiere, Bart celebrates the most shocking birthday party of his entire life — one that might just change everyone in Springfield forever. Season 36 also brings two terrifying Halloween episodes!
In “Treehouse of Horror XXXV,” giant monsters created by political rage threaten to tear the town apart, a Victorian Mr. Burns is jump-scared on Thanksgiving by the ghosts of his abused workers, and Homer bonds with a pair of extra-terrestrial jeans in an unforgettable stop-motion adventure that can only be called…Denim. In the bonus fright-fest, “Treehouse of Horror Presents: Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes,” a tattooed man at a mysterious night circus transports Lisa into three strange stories from the innocent 1950s, the chilling retro-present, and a brutalist future where prestige TV rules the world.
The Simpsons Season 36 is exploding with amazing stories! Grampa reveals his secret past as a 1980s-era private detective, the Simpsons encounter death on vacation at a high-end resort in “Yellow Lotus,” and Lisa has a blazing misadventure in the dark world of Capital City’s downtown art scene."
Bob's Burgers season 15
Premiere date: Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. ET
Note: Season 14's remaining episodes will begin airing on Sept. 8 at 8:30 p.m. ET
In season 15 of Bob's Burgers, Bob Belcher's family will continue selling their burgers. When they're not munching, Bob and Louise engage in a challenging father-daughter activity, and Tina becomes an "advisor" at her school when she gets a promotion for the paper. Like The Simpsons, Bob's Burgers hooked an Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Animated Program," but for "The Amazing Rudy." While it's not unusual to have two series grabbing a nomination, it symbolizes how far they have progressed since their initial debut. Check out what's on the menu for season 15!
"Bob’s Burgers returns for its 15th season. The series centers on the working-class Belcher family -- parents Bob and Linda and their three children, Tina, Gene, and Louise -- who run a seaside New Jersey hamburger restaurant and their adventures interacting with the eccentric members of their community.
This season, Bob must face his fears and join Louise in a father-daughter boogie boarding competition; Tina becomes the columnist for the anonymous “Ask an Eighth Grader” advice column; and when the Belchers’ landlord, Mr. Fischoeder, offers them two months free rent in exchange for catering an important reception at his house, the family must do everything they can to ensure the event goes perfectly. "
Krapopolis season 2
Premiere date: Sept. 29 at 9:30 p.m. ET
The ancient Greek family has a lot on their plate for the upcoming second season as they continue their intense gatherings and accidental murders. But to be fair, Tytannis is still young and learning life's values from his parents, Shlub and Deliria, so mistakes will happen. Get the scoop on season 2!
"In the upcoming season, the city is overrun with debauchery as the annual Ice Week festival comes to Krapopolis; Deliria and Shlub want to prove to Tytannis that they understand the value of human life but keep accidentally killing the servants, and in order to get Krapopolis on the newly-invented map, Tyrannis enlists Hippocampus to open the city’s first restaurant."
