Fall TV is here! On Sept. 8, Universal Basic Guys made its debut on FOX (our review!) and now broadcast's slate is ready to start rolling out in full force. We'll be headed into November by the time all the shows return or premiere which means there's A LOT to look forward to in the coming months.

The week of Sept. 16 has a manageable release schedule to ease us into the season. Only six series are turning the lights on and pulling us into their world, but it's exciting nonetheless. Kicking off the week is Dancing with the Stars which is debuting its season 33 and features The Bachelorette's Jenn Tran and The Bachelor's Joey Graziadei as contestants this year. Expect a Bachelor Nation heavy week as The Golden Bachelorette is also making its premiere, sweeping us along Joan Vassos' journey of love, including a spark with Kelsey Anderson's dad, Mark.

What to know more? Here's what's coming to broadcast, on what channel, how long it is, where to stream it, and what to expect!

Dancing with the Stars season 33

Premiere date: Tuesday, Sept. 17at 8 p.m. ET on ABC
Runtime: Two hour episodes
Streamer: Simulcasts on Disney+, New episodes release Wednesdays on Hulu

As noted above, Dancing with the Stars has not one but two members of Bachelor Nation in the cast. We'll be seeing them cut a rug along with Olympians Ilona Maher and Stephen Nedoroscik (who were both at this year's Emmys!), Phaedra Parks, Tori Spelling, Reginald VelJohnson, Anna Delvey, and more. The season is welcoming a new pro as well. Ezra Sosa, who joined the troupe in 2021, is the first Latin pro on the series in over a decade.

High Potential

Premiere date: Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC
Runtime: One hour episodes
Streamer: New episodes release Wednesdays on Hulu

We're without Will Trent in the fall but ABC is making sure we get our off-beat procedural fix with their new drama High Potential. The series, led by Kaitlin Olson, follows Morgan, a single mom with a genius IQ who gets promoted from cleaning lady to consultant after she easily makes a break on a case the department has been investigating. She's partnered with Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), a by-the-book detective whose eyebrow raises at her methods but they do manage to cultivate an interesting partnership. If you like Wild Cards, this series is one to try.

The Golden Bachelorette

Premiere date: Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC
Runtime: 90 minute episodes
Streamer: New episodes release Thursdays on Hulu

After she had to abruptly leave The Golden Bachelor to be there for her daughter who'd been struggling with post-partum, fans were hoping to see Joan Vassos return for her own season. ABC granted our wish and now get to be a part of her quest to find love again after the loss of her husband as eligible suitors in their golden years vie for her heart.

Survivor 47

Premiere date: Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS (two hour premiere)
Runtime: 90 minute episodes
Streamer: New episodes release Thursdays on Paramount+

Another fall, another island full of castaways who you think would have been prepared for the goings on in Survivor with the series well into its seniority. But nonetheless, you can expect contestants to underestimate the toll the long game will have on them mentally, physically, and emotionally as they try to make allies, keep secrets, and manipulate other players into keeping them around long enough to win a million dollars.

Matlock

Premiere date: Sunday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS
Runtime: One hour episodes
Viewer advisory: Episode 2 won't premiere until Thursday, Oct. 17 at 9 p.m. ET
Streamer: The premiere will be available Monday, Sept. 23 on Paramount+. Subsequent episodes will release on Fridays starting Oct. 18.

The wait is finally over for our first look at Matlock, CBS' iteration of the hit Andy Griffith law drama that's being billed as "not your grandfather's Matlock." The show follows Matty, played by the incomparable Kathy Bates, an extremely cunning woman who earns her way into a position at a law firm after she proves she can use people's preconceived notions about her against them. Folks don't see her coming because she's an older woman and that mistake is all the advantage she needs.

Rescue: HI-Surf

Premiere date: Sunday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX
Runtime: One hour episodes
Viewer advisory: Episode 2 premieres Monday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET. This will be the show's regular timeslot.
Streamer: The premiere will be available Monday, Sept. 23 on Hulu. Subsequent episodes will release Tuesdays starting Sept. 24.

First responder dramas are a dime a dozen on broadcast but we've certainly never seen one quite like Rescue: HI-Surf, a lifeguard series set in O'ahu along the most dangerous seven miles of coast in Hawaii. The show is action packed, so much so that the actors had to get their certification, helped rescue real life people while shooting, and went through extensive training with the responders who do this work daily. You can, of course, expect drama, too, as jobs are on the line, romance is a brewing, and the intensity of the work bleeds into other areas of the lifeguards lives.
