The law at the LAPD just got stronger, as two new rookies will join the veteran officers in season 7 of The Rookie. As showrunner Alexi Hawley previously hinted, he was searching for new candidates to fill the spot left by Celina Juarez (Lisseth Chavez). After being on the force for two years, Juarez is no longer considered a rookie, and with her promotion, a new officer (or two) will be recruited.

As the season 6 finale ended with some serious crimes, it's a no-brainer that it's going to take more policemen to help solve them. Officer Nolan (Nathan Fillion) will have his hands full with training his new colleagues, and with his teaching style, they'll be climbing the ranks in no time—that is if Nolan is the new rookies' training officer.

The Rookie adds two new officers to the team for season 7

With season 7 premiering during the midseason, we'll get update snippets to prep for it. Spoilers are pretty mum, but we'll absorb anything we can get as fans. The upcoming season has a full episode order filled with immersive storylines to keep the audience hooked. To help tell the stories with Officer Nolan, new talent has been signed to the cast roster.

According to TVLine, Deric Augustine and Patrick Keleher are the latest cast additions for season 7. Augustine is best known for his role as Clay in the CW's All American, and The Rookie will be Keleher's first launch into television. Both actors will have recurring roles in the police drama, but it's still a question of how many episodes they'll be featured in.

Augustine will portray Miles, "a Texas transfer who, despite having two years [of police work] under his belt, will be a rookie with the LAPD." Since Los Angeles is a large city with several neighborhoods, it's only natural for Miles to undergo additional training to get a feel for and a sense of LA.

The Southern California location might be illustrated as "glamourous, ' but it's also a dangerous place. Several cases have gone cold in LA, but maybe a few could be closed with Miles' assistance or at least gain new insight.

Meanwhile, Keleher will play Seth, "who may seem like the ideal police officer," but he must be "quick on the job" and make "decisive actions," according to the outlet, that doesn't come naturally to him.

If we had to guess more about Seth's portrayal, it sounds like he's that typical Californian surfer who needs a serious change in his life. Becoming part of the law may feel like an easy fix, but Seth quickly realizes that the job is more than just donuts and a badge; it's about civil duty, honor, and gaining respect, and he might not be ready yet.

Will these two new rookies keep up with the ever busy LAPD? Or will they be discharged due to the pressure? We'll have to wait and see when The Rookie returns on ABC in January 2025.
