Suits LA reveals major update about Harvey and Donna's marriage

At the end of Harvey Specter's 3-episode arc on Suits LA, Harvey dropped huge news about what's happened between him and Donne since we last saw them in Suits season 9.

The greatest nine-season slow burn on television just got a little sweeter! Gabriel Macht returned to the world of Suits on Suits LA as part of a three-episode arc, and even though we didn't get to see any scenes with Sarah Rafferty as Donna, her name did finally come up (twice!) in season 1 episode 9.

Toward the beginning of the episode, Ted makes a quick comment about Donna wearing sweatpants, which confirmed for the audience that Harvey and Donna were still together (of course they are!). But at the end of the episode, fans were treated to much more exciting news.

How are Donna and Harvey doing in Suits?

At the end of "Bat Signal," Ted and Harvey are sitting together at a restaurant, and Harvey looks down at the screen on his phone. Ted makes a comment about what Harvey could be reading, and in his reply, Harvey announces that he's looking at a photo of his son on the phone. The news was quick, but it confirmed that Donna and Harvey have started a family together!

Suits LA kept the details to themselves though because we didn't find out the boy's name, and we don't know how young he is — but he would have been born sometime between season 9 and now (a span of about five years). Still, the reaction from fans about the scene showed that the small update sparked a lot of joy.

We have no news at this time about whether Harvey Specter or Donna Paulsen will ever appear on Suits LA again, but is there a chance we will we learn more about Harvey and Donna's family in future episodes? It's possible, but I think if we were to get an update, the most likely place for it might come in the episode when Louis Litt makes a comeback to the Suits universe.

NBC confirmed earlier this year that Rick Hoffman would appear in one episode of the spin-off series, but with four episodes remaining in the season, we don't know exactly when he'll appear. But if conversation comes up about his daughter Lucy, maybe we'll also learn more about whether his family has interacted with Harvey and Donna's.

As a fan of Suits myself, I admit it's been difficult to feel connected to Ted Black's story and the new team on Suits LA, but peppering in fun updates about the original cast has helped keep my attention, and I'll take all the little Easter eggs I can get. At the same time -- maybe Suits needed to end when it did, and we can all just imagine a little happy law group working together in Seattle in peace, fighting to make the world a better place without needing to see them fight in a court room again.

Suits LA airs Sundays on NBC at 9/8c, with episodes available to stream the following day on Peacock. If you're interested in revisiting the series that started it all, Suits seasons 1-9 are all currently available to stream on Peacock as well.
